I’ve often found that you learn a lot by working in teams. I find that something’s go very well and others go very wrong. By the end of every assignment I always find myself asking myself what I would do If I could do it again?

The things that went well were access points. ROS were very good at giving us passwords and helping us with their Facebook and Twitter Accounts.  ROS is a very professional company and they communicated with us in a very professional way.

Other things that went well were meetings. While sometimes not everyone was present and some meetings got heated, the group did make time for a lot of meetings. Meetings were very important to our workings for this project.

Things that could be improved on would definitely be communication avenues. While avenues were set up such as Facebook group pages and everyone communicated via Gmail, these avenues are slow and emotionless. Often people missed what had been said or couldn’t find bits of information that were supplied within email threads. On other occasions ROS was added into email conversations that they should not have been in.

If I could do this all over again I certainly would do it differently. For starters I would have been more vigilant to find a company from the beginning rather than leaving it for two weeks due to other college work.

Overall I found the project very interesting and I learned a lot about Social Media, ROS Nutrition and what it is like to work with an external Company.

Too often people believe that a quick diet will fix their problems. Too heavy? Don’t eat for a week. Too scrawny? Go to the gym for a few days. Need a detox? Do a juice diet. The twenty first century is a fast pace century and people these days believe in quick fixes to solve all their problems. Health and Fitness, however, is a lifestyle – Not a diet.

ROS products work with your body to give you dietary supplements to help you with your training and fitness. They are not the answer to a “quick fix problem”.

ROS Nutrition will be the first to tell you that in order for their products to work and work well, people need to adapt a healthier lifestyle. You can’t go to the gym, have a protein shake after it and then eat junk all day until you have McDonalds for dinner. It doesn’t work like that.

ROS Products must be used in conjunction to a balanced healthy lifestyle. The quicker the fix, the quicker to problem will be back again. With a more balanced lifestyle rather than the latest diet, ROS Nutrition products can be used to get the best results for your body. Remember:

The bigger the BUT… the bigger the BUTT

Social Media Progress

By Dennis Grigorenko

Since we have taken on this assignment for our ‘MN219 – Social Media’ module, we have seen a great increase in ROS Nutrition Groups following through various social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter which are the main ones used. Their fan base and interaction with fans has been constantly increasing week in, week out. They have been successfully gaining fans and followers from our postings through their social media platforms. The use of tools such as Boss Metrics, Crowdbooster, Edgerankchecker and Facebook insights have allowed us to gather and analyse data which in turn allowed us to construct a tailored course of action plan for ROS Nutrition.

We believe these tools are the reason that their fans and followers have grown significantly in such a short period of time. When we started working on ROS Nutrition’s social media they had 718 likes on their Facebook page compared to 845 like which they have now. On twitter, they had 514 followers compared to the 574 followers that they have now. We believe that the lower percentage increase on the amount of twitter followers is due to ROS Nutrition’s customers being more inclined to use Facebook for their social media as they seem to interact much better on Facebook.

Outside tools, especially Boss Metrics have helped us a lot in our journey of social media marketing. One of the key features that have helped us is the ‘Comparer’ mode which allows you to compare your social media to that of your direct competitors. Overall, we are extremely happy that our social media plan for ROS Nutrition, it has proved extremely beneficial to all members of our team as well as being crucial for ROS moving forward with their social media.

How to Reduce Body Fat

By Neil Beirne

Most people that exercise are doing so to reduce their body fat, whether it is a person in the gym for personal reasons or an athlete doing specific training. I know some of my friends that are trying to lose fat but when exercising in the gym always try and lift heavy weights and rarely engage in cardio. As time goes on they are frustrated by the small gains which they have made. They may be putting on muscle mass which is one of their goals but without reducing body fat this muscle mass which they have gained is barely visible due to the layer of fat surrounding their body.

There is no easy solution to losing fat (NO PAIN NO GAIN), when doing cardio whether it be on a treadmill, rower, cross-trainer, bike intensity in the workout is vital. A lot of people go onto a treadmill and stay on it for 45mins to an hour thinking they have done a serious fat burning session, when in fact they have not. Keeping your heart rate high is very important and sustaining that high heart rate is of most importance. So maybe instead of going on a treadmill at 4km/hr for 40mins, you do 15mins at 8km/hr after which you quickly change machines and continue this high intensity workout at a fast pace.

With weights training high intensity is rarely used by most people. Most do one exercise 8-10 reps and have a minute rest. Very little fat burning will occur. By using super-sets where you complete two exercises one after the other and then take a small rest, fat burning will take place. Doing circuit sessions is probably the best weights session for fat burning so try and get involved with them.
